50% off bottles all weekend! … while supplies last, of course
Happy Friday, Friends!
Jax Family Vineyards Y3 Taureau was such a hit, we bought another shipment and are featuring it this weekend again as a bottle special. White lovers, hold on for one more week. We’ll have something good for you next weekend.
Jax Family Vineyards is in the Calistoga area of the Napa Valley in California, and accordingly they tend to produce great Napa Valley style wines with a Calistoga twist (see “Wine Geek Note” below.)
Jax Y3 Taureau is a red blend, but Merlot predominates at 50%; Cab Sauv makes up another 25%, Syrah 20% and Zinfandel 5%. It’s got both mellow and vibrant qualities, accounting for the name “Taureau”. Taureau is the name of a former prize bull from the family’s ranch. The wine captures that same vibrant and kicking spirit, hence the name.
Ruby purple in color, with loads of black cherry and briary black currant fruit, the wine is meaty and refreshing, with hints of mocha and earth. A beautifully rich, concentrated, irresistible style of wine to drink casually or with serious cuisine. If you care to age a bottle or two yourself (we do sell retail in case you didn’t know), Jax Y3 Taureau is approachable now and will cellar until at least 2022.
